This short scale Crossover is a genuine Schwung. However, being a prototype, the body – notably, the curl at the bottom – differs slightly from the final design. It has an alder body, a mahogany neck and a set of two Gibson 490/498 humbuckers. Despite the Gotoh vintage tremolo with Shure Claw, and the bolt-on neck, this guitar sounds very much like a Gibson: from mellow-jazzy clean, to juicy high gain rock. Playability is great, of course, because the neck is all Schwung: compound radius, 24 stainless steel frets, aligned with the famous PLEK technology, and a setup that characterises all Schwung guitars.
