This Gretsch look Crossover has two fat FilterTron/TV Jones style pickups, the Rosswell LPH set, excellent pickups. They have a rather fierce output, which can be easily tamed to a civilised jazz tone by turning down the volume a bit. The heavy Gotoh 510TS-SF2 tremolo block and the Schaller Sure Claw (which has the stiff springs attached to it, see the back) ensure a good transmission of string energy, making sure the whole guitar contributes to the tone.
